CATCHING UP WITH OUR BOO CREW....

The St. George Temple

I got to St. George just as the sun was going down
and snapped these pictures of the temple. This
sacred place is so very beautiful each morning
and night, I love to walk over to it and take pictures
and just sit and enjoy the peace of it.

I love going to the temple, in this crazy world,
it surely is a place of great peace and joy.

Our St. George home is just 3 blocks from
this beautiful place, so I get to see it every
day...I love that so much.

This past month of October I got to spend nearly the
whole month at our sweet cottage home. It was
Heaven to me...I feel such peace and happiness there.

I ate out and shopped and saw friends and family. I
love being around people too and I get to see and talk
to many people there.

I saw this sweet statue at a thrift store and I could not
leave her behind...isn't she the sweetest thing?!

We got a touch of snow one day, which is so rare there. It was
mostly in little spots here and there in the yard!

I loved my bumpy pumpkin!

Yes, I have a new friend there too...
This old male cat has taken up residence on my
front porch. He is an old wild cat and I am feeding
him and he even is letting me give him a few pets
on the head too.

He is cozy on my porch chair, I even got him a
nice flannel blanket!

Caleb drew this turkey and I think it is so good!

Well this month will bring another new baby into our family.
Our daughter Lindsey is having her second baby, a little boy.

I will be spending more time in St. George, and with her to help out
and mostly to love love love...that is what grandma's do best isn't it?

I need to get a lap top computer, all I have is an old desk top and it
is so slow! I need to keep up with my family and friends better...
maybe for Christmas I can get a new one.

WELCOME FALL....

The weather has changed and it looks like there is no turning back...
So, the next best thing is to just welcome it all and throw on the warm socks
and sweatshirts. I really resisted, but now that I have given in, I am ready.

Woke up the other morning to ice everywhere, the sprinklers were on
and everything was a frozen wonderland. A big branch broke off our tree
from the weight of the ice...but it really looked pretty!

We have started up the pellet stove to keep the house warm and the house
is bursting with happy Halloween decorations. I do really love the winter
holidays, they get me through the colder months.

My favorite withes have come to smile their sly smiles at us...
(I got them at Ace Hardware)

We are ready for the trick and treats...

You might have to sing us a song for your treat though!

So come on...enter if you dare...really, we aren't scary at all!

Then again, maybe we are!

I love to make these at Halloween time, they always turn out so cute! Make your cupcake, pull one end out and put in half of a marshmallow, frost the whole thing with whipped frosting. Use Jr. Mints for the eyes and sliced almonds for the teeth, chocolate chip for the nose.

Sophia watching cartoons with her dad...my, times have changed...
These little ones really are coming computer savvy.

Looks like Sophia had got her pumpkins all picked out!

Flying high with dad, look at that tongue! LOL

One of my blog friends contacted me on day to tell me that she had heard that
one of our church's temples had burned down. I thought it was sweet of her to
tell me that...but it wasn't a temple. just a very old church building. It was sad
and many people who used it felt so bad. Well, it has just been announced that
it is going to be rebuilt as a temple! It will be really beautiful, a very special new
beginning for this old lady.

My hubby and I took a long weekend and went up to Park City, Utah.
This is Bridal Veil Falls and it looked so beautiful surrounded by the fall colors.

We passed this old red truck, I yelled to the couple that I would
be willing to trade my new car for their red truck but he said, no thanks!

This place was owned by my grandparents, it is called Lemon's Grove.

We spent lots of time here as kids..for family reunions etc. I was
thrilled to see that it was still there and still carried that name.

Park City was so much fun, lots of antique shops...

I loved the red boots in this store window...

We couldn't pass this store up as we were looking for that, after dinner sweet!

Our church even had a little place there on main street. Lots of
people were stopping in, looking up their ancestors and family lines.

All the shops were all lite up and there is just a fun festive feeling.

GORGEOUS...I DO SO LOVE TURQUOISE!

Loved the lights...

This guy was hanging out at the boot store.

I loved this old house and how they had it all decorated for Halloween.

Main street ends and the mountains begin..beautiful!

My grandpa's house is still there...we spent many a weekend there
running the streets with our cousins, that was before Park City became
such a tourist place and home of Robert Redford's Sundance Film Festival.
I miss the old Park City even though I still like it now too.

A view of the end of main street...

My grandpa used to take me with him to get the mail here on main street.
Now it's lined with cars and hard to find a place to park!

We saw tons of gorgeous colored leaves on this trip...

This sweet baby was so close to our car!

The mountains rise up right over all the old homes in Park City.
Most of them have been bought up and are now all guised up with
bright colors. It really is fun just to drive around to see them.

I remember this big old barn from my childhood. It sat way out in the field so
peaceful like...now there is a walking/biking path to it and all around it, it has
become a tourist site.

We were in St. George, Utah this last week and we bought a little 1937 home there!
Our place here is still for sale, so we will just enjoy time there as we can, until this one sells.

It is so cute and all redone, nice yard and it is really cute. I was visiting with the
lady who will be my neighbor and she gave me a sack of Pomegranites and her
recipe for Pomegranite Salsa...it is SO good, so I am sharing it with you!

POMEGRANITE SALSA

2 pomegranites. seeded
1 avacado, diced
1 tomatoe, diced
2-3 green onions, sliced
1 T. lemon (or) lime juice
1/8 tsp. cayenne
1/4 tsp coriander (or) parsley
1/2 tsp. salt

Cut the pomegranits partially through, then
break them up under water. Push the seeds out.
and the skin will float to the surface and the seeds
will be in the bottom of your bowl, drain.

Combine ingredients in a bowl
toss to coat, eat with tortilla chips.
