THREE DAY TRIP...

This little boy is so brave! And he thinks he can fly!

And after watching him do this, over and over, I am
starting to think that maybe he can fly! He envisions
himself as all kinds of super hero's, and he is so into
the zone when he is a super hero!

I went to see some of my kids and visit with them and
some sweet little grands for three days...that was a bit of
grandma heaven for me...I have to do that every once in
a while to get my portion of sweetness filled up again.

I went with one of my daughters and her little family to tour the
Iron Mission in Ceder City, Ut. It is a great place to visit and our
ancestors had much to do settling this area, so it always brings a
wonderful feeling and connection to them to see things like this.

Sophia sitting atop a big old horse, she thought that was so fun!

Lindsey and Michael and Sophia in the US Mail stagecoach.

You've got mail grandma!

The white hearse was used just for children

A huge wooden water tank hauler

A snow sleigh...what fun that would be!

An old fashioned kitchen, reminds me of my grandma.

These carriage's were so beautifully restored, what a treasure they are.

Some were left as they were found, this was an over-land stage,
it looked like a rough and very dusty way to travel to me!

I liked this picture of the old days in Ceder...love the old
cars and look at that snow! I haven't seen snow like that
at all this year, we still haven't had any snow this winter!

Cutie-pie Sophia peeking out of her blankie...always smiling!

~Lindsey's cute little family~

Sophia loves her rubber ducky with the big red beak!

And she loves her little doggie Tinkerbell...

And Tinkerbell loves her baby Sophia...

They are always hanging out together!

These two are our littlest grand daughters...Sophia and Ella.

Caleb kissing Sophia's little hand..sweet!

Tiffany has two little poodles, Ollie and Tucker and they
just have to get some grandma hugs too!

I love to sit on the floor and play with my little grands!
I get so I don't even hear what the adults in the room
are saying. It's so fun to be into the grands that much!

Sophia snuggling with her grandpa

Ella, she is the new centerpiece of the table I think...
so cute as she shares in every one's meal! She is such
a dynamic, loving little child and what a snuggler too!

Here at home, we just stay warm...
Zak loves to be snuggled in a blanket

Bo with his little butt hanging off the back of the chair...

A toasty place to be.

I stopped into a little antique shop the other day and saw these...
I just love the polka dot gloves, they remind me of the 50's, so cute!

I found this darling vintage apron which I really loved!

It even looked cute hung over the kitchen valance but I
think I will just hang it on the hall tree above. Sorry ladies,
but this one will not be in a give a way, this one I am keeping!

Speaking of a GIVE A WAY...
that is just what I will be doing
for my next post, so stay tuned!

SHARING THE GOODIES WITH YOU....

HOMEMADE HOT MUSTARD SAUCE

Put in a saucepan;

1 cup dry mustard powder
2/3 cup Sugar
1/2 cup water
1/2 cup vinegar
1 pinch of salt
1/8 tsp. Cayenne pepper

Stir in til smooth and let come
to a boil. Reduce heat to low,
for 10 minutes. Place mixture
in a mason jar and store in the
refrigerator for a few months
to use over steaks or any meat.

We love a good grilled steak! It has been our romantic meal
to share together since we were dating. My hubbie is the one
who grills the steaks while I do the other part that goes on top.

While he grills, I am chopping the onions and frying them in butter with
salt and pepper. Just as they are getting soft I throw in a bunch of fresh
chopped mushrooms and let them sit in there with the onions and butter.
(Sometimes I cook some chopped up small red potatoes along with the onion.)

~And for dessert~
MOUTH-WATERING MACAROONS

Whisk 2 eggs whites with 1/2 tsp. salt
in a large bowl until stiff peaks form.

Gently fold in one 14 oz. bag shredded
sweetened coconut and 3/4 cup of
sweetened condensed milk.

Stir 1 1/2 cups mini chocolate chips
nuts or dried cherries. Then scoop
2 inch balls and lay them about 1"
apart onto parchment lined baking
sheets. Bake at 300' til golden, about
25 minutes.

You can store these in an airtight container
for a good week. So good with a bowl of your
favorite ice cream... a movie and a snuggle!

Just a parting thought my friends...I think if we could remember who we were in our pre-mortal life, we would feel like this. I believe were really are children of God...he is our father. He has created such a beautiful world for us to live in as we face the trials and tests of this life, preparing for our lives to come with him and our Savior Jesus Christ. I believe that we were so excited for this opportunity that we shouted for JOY! I hope we are all staying in tune with our Heavenly Father and praying to him each day, for his help and guidance, and maybe a bit of a glimpse at who were were...that we might become that person here... as well as in the life to come. At least that thought helps me.. and I hope it helps you too my friends. With love and hugs to you, Julie

THE BLESSINGS OF EVERYDAY....

Now this is excited....little Sophia, so excited to see a new friend.

And I want you all to know, that this is how I feel about all of you
my sweet friends. Thank you for taking the time to visit me and to
leave such kind comments....I just love all of you and if I could I
would do just what Sophia is doing, plus... I would give you a BIG HUG!

This is our grandson Caleb and his dog Libby. And this is what all
little boys should get to do on a snowy day. Doesn't this look like
so much fun?!

It makes me want to be little again. We did this with our kids when
they were little too. At that time, I had a big black Newfoundland dog.
and then later we did it with our golden retrievers. Always so much fun!

My daughter Lindsey went to her husbands family Christmas party...
She had her baby Sophia wear her new Christmas shirt, (She is the one
on your left) but then another little cousin comes in with the same shirt
on, and then another cousin came in with the very same shirt on! They
all thought it was very funny! Good taste I say...they all look so cute in it.

And one more matching picture, our daughter Tiffany with her little Ella.
I think they are so pretty in their matching sweaters, don't you, love it!

Lindsey and Michael took their little Sophia swimming for the first time.
She is just five months old but has been sitting up for over a month now,
here she is going down a slide! Such a cute teenie in her bikini, love her.

A couple of gorgeous sunsets from my front windows...
they have really been wowing us of lately! I am so very
grateful for this beautiful earth that was created for us.

It's so amazing to watch all of it's workings everyday, what a blessing!

I caught these three sitting in a spot of sun the other day. I thought it
was amazing how they looked like they were all posing for their picture!

I'd say the new little homeless kitty Bob has settled right in wouldn't you?!

~One of my favorite meals~
" CHICKEN QUESADILLA FIESTA "

Chop 1 red sweet pepper, set aside.
Coarsely chop 1 (14oz.) chicken tenders,
toss with 1 T. fiesta lime seasoning blend.

Heat 1 T. Olive oil in a large skillet, add chicken
along with 1 clove garlic, minced. Cook, stirring
occasionally for about 4 minutes or until the meat
is no longer pink inside.

Add 2/3 cups of the red chopped pepper, and
1/3 cup frozen corn, cook for 2 minutes.
Add a can of black beans, stir and heat.

Spoon filling onto 4 (8") tortillas. Sprinkle with
cheese and top with another tortilla. Spray pan
with Pam, put tortilla on griddle. Cook each side
until browned (about 2 min. per side) Serve with
sour cream, salsa and avocado, lime juice. Serves 4

You can make this with any kind of beans or a
scrambled egg can sub for chicken, or try veggies,
chopped broccoli, zucchini some onion, anything you like!

Well, it looks like the new year has started of right, we still
don't have any snow but we do have full sun everyday, one
of the blessings of living at 7,000 ft. It is really windy today
though...maybe a snow storm is blowing in, that would be nice!

Right here where I live we don't have a lot of snow yet, we seem to get ours in Jan. and Feb. Last year we didn't even get a spring, it just went right into summer and then our summer was so rainy nearly everyday we got rain. I am so hoping for a better deal this year!

Stay warm and cozy where ever you are!
