ST. GEORGE & FAMILY, MEMORIAL WEEKEND...

Happy 9 months old to sweet baby Claire!

A big old robin sitting on the fence at the St. George L.D.S. Temple.

The visitors center at night, with the statue of Jesus Christ.
This sits on front and off to the side of the temple, it is really
beautiful day or night.

One of my favorite sides of the temple...

This temple is so beautiful in any lighting or any time of the
day or night. I love walking around it and spending time on
the grounds.

It sits right in the middle of St. George, our little home is
one block behind it and 3 blocks north of it. I so love that
everyday as I go for a walk when I am there, I am in the
shadow of the temple, what a blessing!

This past Memorial weekend, we did a few things on the house.
Do you see the iron piece hanging in the steep of the house?
And the two gingerbread pieces on the porch?

Now you can see it better...I found it at the cutest little
gift & thrift store. The owner had used it on his shop
for about eight years. I was thrilled because it was the
exact shape and look that I was trying to find for the
steep of this house.

It was a bit darker, so I primed and painted it white
to match the white trim of the house and also my iron
angel in the flower bed. I was so happy when I ran on
to this iron piece because I did not want to hang a star
there, I wanted something more cottage and this was
so perfect!

We also added two gingerbread brackets on the front porch.
We had them left over from a home we built two years ago.
I never could find the right place for them, until now and they
fit here perfectly!

Hawaiian dancers and red rock country...why not?!

There is an awesome place called TUACAHN...It is tucked
away in a red rock box canyon. The most wonderful plays
and musicals take place there. It is so neat to sit out under
the stars for a night of great entertainment.

They hold a big farmers market there every Saturday and
we went up to see it and see the Hawaiian dancers that were
there also. A beautiful and fun day.

Our next door neighbors invited us over for a barbecue.
This is Tom and my Ron getting a head start on the ribs!

And this is Tom's wife, Sue. They have the cutest little
cottage home. It was a delicious dinner with ribs, beans,
new potatoes & peas, rolls and limeade. We brought the
chocolate candy cake and some ice cream.

They are the funnest people and they have been so kind
and helpful to us as we have painted and worked on our
house. All the neighbors have been so kind and friendly!

This is our great grandson Tracen
and his little dog. I just love how he
is hugging this cute pug!

Pretty happy pair if you ask me!

Sweet little Claire after her bath, I love baby bath time!

Claire's mom and dad at the policeman's ball...I may be a bit
biased but I think this is a good looking couple!

Their little girl Ella, and her dog sweet & loyal, Tucker.

Guess who? Well, I would know those beautiful eyes
anywhere...it's Sophia!

Grandpa Ron with Sophia

I think you can see how much Caleb loves their new kitten
"Sprinkles"...they both look pretty cozy to me!

Sophia loves bugs...see the caterpillar on her hand?
Brave little girl.

Time for school graduations...
Our grand daughter Brickelle graduating from 8Th grade
and heading into high school next year! She is the second
from your left, the darling little blond with the pretty floral
dress.

Well, it's that time of year...time to play and have a great summer!
Sending out my love to all, have a good summer wherever you are.

If you haven't yet, sign in as a follower of this blog. Going private
has been an interesting thing! I have gone from 89-100 comments
for each of my posts, down to 12-20 comments! A bit of a shock but
then I am not visiting all other blogs any more either. I just didn't
like spending all day at the computer. I do miss them though!

COME TAKE A WEEKEND TOUR WITH ME....

Our dog Cougar loves cooling off where ever he can find water.
Our daughter Lindsey took care of him for about a week and
took him for walks where he found a good old muddy creek
to cool off in!

Her little Sophia loves Cougar! They have a doggy door and
he would stick his nose through it and she would give him treats!

I found a sweet treasure... a whole roll of vintage contact
paper that had never been used. I cut it up and put it in
all my drawers and cupboards of my kitchen in our
St. George house.

I about died when I saw it on a shelf at a thrift store, what
a find indeed!

I found this darling vintage material and made....

Two kitchen valances for my vintage kitchen...love it!

Amazing what some hard work will do, looking much better
than those old oak cabinets did!

Three of my daughters came to St, George for
the weekend. We shopped for a graduation
dress for pretty Brickelle.

Sophia had fun playing peek a boo with grandma
from behind the mirrors.

I was tending Sophia over night while her mom and dad
were off celebrating their wedding anniversary. We had
lots of fun...she loved this little bath toy, when she would
squeeze it, it would blink bright lights!

Sophia loves her cousin Brody...he loves her too but thinks
she is a bit of a pest when he is playing his games!

We all walked down two blocks from our home to the water
park where the kids had tons of fun trying not to get splashed!

We then walked over to the temple, what a
feeling there is there. The kids climbed up to
the top of the stairs to be close to the temple.

The carousel at the park

Michael & Lindsey, off to celebrate their anniversary.

Too bad that on this same weekend this big bike got
totaled! Michael and a niece were on it and a man who
was trying to beat the light crashed into them...they were
ok but the bike was not! It was a scary thing and a blessing
that they were not hurt more than a few bumps and cuts!

The kids got to ride the Carousel so many times and they had
a blast being silly...Brickelle here and...

Natalie here..Yee Haw!

There was even a new married couple getting pictures
taken on it!

Natalie and Brody

Our St. George home sits 2 blocks from historic
downtown. This place has the best breakfast
food and sandwiches for lunch! Usually, there is
a line of people at the door but I took this picture
real early in the morning.

There are dozens of statues all over town, love that!

And water falls or some kind of water feature all over too.

This is my favorite little gift shop. It has the cutest things!
I bought a beautiful iron piece for the outside steep of our
house here. When we get it up, I'll show you.

There is Honeysuckle all over town and roses...I just can't
get enough of this beautiful place!

This is a old theatre and play house.

There are antique shops too...

Love all the statues, they even have a walking tour of them.

I went to the library too, this big beautiful painting hangs up on
one wall, it's an amazing size, love it!

Another fun place to lunch, my daughter Lindsey
and I went here one day, it was so good!

From all over St. George you see this...everywhere you
go, there it is! It really holds ones attention and it also
tells a wonderful story of the Mormon pioneers who built
it. Love it so much!

Another angle of it...

And another...

Amazing that pioneers could build such a beautiful
place...sacred to them and to us now. They gave all
that they had to build it, it tells quite a a story for them.

As you can see, there are 3 blocks here behind the temple...
Our home sits on the corner of the second block, we can see
the temple from our front porch at night, so lovely!

Hope you enjoyed the tour and I wish you could come
and visit me here in this lovely, beautiful town of
St. George, Utah!

(There are 2 more new posts below this one)

LOVE TO ALL
