GOOD HELPS, ALONG LIFE'S PATH....

All of the posters in this post are what is known as... "MORMONADS"

I have used these in my home for years, putting them on the fridge or
walls where we could all see them. My children as they grew up had them
on their bedroom walls, they could look at and keep in mind the good messages
as they went about their daily lives.

I think they are very helpful to remind us of who we really are and what we
should really be thinking about and doing each day. Look through them and
as you do, you can click on each one to see the message on them.


If you would like to get some for your home, for your children or grandchildren,
it's easy to do. They come either in a set or individually. You can go to this site;

There, click on Menu, then Family-Youth, then on sidebar, New Era Magazine.

Or you can go to any Desert Book Store (Google it) and buy them there also.
They are a nice large size... 8x11 and you can also go to New Era on Face book
to see them. They also come in a smaller size and you can get them at the same
places or in the New Era Magazine at the above site address, they are not costly
at all and a great thing to have in a home. There are many more of them than I
have posted here, so have fun finding the ones you like.

I have never uploaded pictures like this on a post so sorry if they
are not so perfect here but you get the idea anyway I hope. Enjoy
looking at them to see which one you like best.

SWEETS OF ALL KINDS....

"CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE OREO BROWNIE BAR"

Make up 2 packages of Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough Mix,
Spread it into a 9x13 pan. Sprinkle 2 Cups Milk Chocolate chips
on top of cookie dough. Next lay out over chocolate chips,
1 whole package of Double Stuffed Oreos.

Now mix up 1 "Family size" Brownie mix...
to this mix, add; 1/4 cup Hot Fudge Topping.
Pour Brownie mix over the Oreos. Bake at 350' 45-55 min.
Serve a double stack if you dare, all warm with
vanilla ice cream and Hot Fudge sauce poured on top.

This will satisfy your sweet tooth for sure!
Now for some more sweets...

These little guys, Kelton and Brody, are two of our sweet little
grandsons. It was Brody's birthday here (in the red shirt) and
we went to celebrate with him. He sure was excited about it all.

I love it when they love their gifts from Grandma & Grandpa.

Blowing out the candles is ALWAYS exciting for them and for us too.

I think we missed Spring, so I don't know if what we have now is Summer or Spring, but it is so nice...finally! The last two years we have had the strangest weather, missing Spring with such very cold weather. I have to say though that since June came along, it has turned really nice.

This is the view out my front windows...fields full of horses, cattle and sheep, peacefully grazing and laying down together. The sound of sprinklers watering the fields. It's so nice to have June pay a visit and decide to finally stay and be nice to us...love it!

I have been gone for a few days to visit a couple of my children.
I was helping my daughter Lindsey hang pictures and decorate
their new home and another daughter to do a little landscaping.

The most fun of it for me is playing with my grandchildren. Here,
I had just given Sophia her bath and we were playing Boo games
with the mirror which always bring laughter!

We all went to the park for a picnic lunch...I just had to snap
this picture of Caleb and his sister Ella. He is always watching
out for her and she is a wild little pony, always running off. I
loved her in the skirt and her brothers old boots, such cute kids!

This is Caleb & Ella's dog Libby, she is a white Golden and she just

got shaved for the summer. She is patiently waiting for us to finish
our picnic so we can let her run and play in the water.

The kids had fun playing in the stream...it was really cold!

There has been a ton of snow in Utah this year and there
is so much melting and run off now, several places have
had problems with flooding.

It was a really nice warn day and Ella got into the water too.

It's is such a fun thing to talk to Ella because she does this...
If I say to her, "Ella, you can do good tricks!" She will say,
Ya, good tricks." If I say to her, Ella, I love you." She will say to
to me, "Ya, love you." If I say to her, "You are so pretty!" She
will say, "Ya, so pretty." I love talking with my sweet Ella Mae!

I was dipping Sophia's sweet little toes into the water a bit here.

I took a load of things down with me, along with my Golden,
Cougar. I had him shaved at this place, called the "Hitching Post."
This was the first time he has been shaved and he love it! Sweet!

This sweet little grand daughter is quite the homemaker.

She is teaching herself how to sew and has made several
pillowcases. She also likes to cook and makes up all kinds
of ways to do things. She made these very cute cupcakes, and
I thought they were very clever and cute! Way to go Brickelle!

Well there you go, a post full of sweets of all kinds.

WOMEN STRENGTHENING FAMILIES...

~Woman With Food Storage~

I like these painting...the artist is Judith A. Mehr, she is 60 years
old and lives in Salt Lake City, Utah. She paints as a woman who
knows the work... and the joy... of family, and I like that.

I have done all of these things in these pictures. As we raised our
eight children, I have bottled about everything you can name. It
is such a good feeling to have shelves of food for your family.

~Fresh Laundry~

Nothing like a sunny day and smell of cloths hung out on the line to dry!
My memories of this go back to my grandma and my mom doing the
same thing. I do use my dryer but this is a wonderful thing to experience.

~Grandma Is A Storyteller~

Did you have a grandma like this? I did, she was famous for her
wonderful made up stories. I think that is where my dad got his
great imagination and then passed it on to me. What a gift!

~Mom And Stephens Cherries~


Yes, we had a big Bing cherry tree and our kids still talk about it!
How much they loved it when we all went out together to pick the
cherries...oh, they were so sweet and so delicious fresh or bottled.

~Promises~

Passing on the stories and pictures and love for our ancestors.
My mom was the family genealogist and she passed on to me
all of this and more. She gave me precious pictures of many
of my ancestors and I treasure them, as they hang on the walls

of my home.
I think that when we know who our ancestors were,
we can then know who we are. When I meet them one
fine day... I will know them.

~Retirement~

I hope I am doing this when I get to this age. Even if it is just a
little garden spot. There is nothing like a bit of work in the garden
and nothing like a fresh tomato sandwich with tomatoes straight
from the garden, with the warmth of the sun still on their skin.

~Woman With Bread~

There is nothing like homemade bread! I have been making it ever
since I was 12 years old. My mama taught me how to do it all with
my hands in a big old bowl. I use a mixer now but I still get to enjoy
the smell of bread baking in the oven. That is a smell that every child
should know.

there and go see my recipe if you would like. It only takes 90 minutes
from start to finish with no second rising and it is the best bread ever.

Thank goodness for all mom's...who care for and love their families
and give and work and teach. What would this world do without
such mothers? Sharing tasks and helping one another set a solid
pattern for future families as children grow up, marry and leave
home.
The lessons learned in the home are those that last the
longest. All people are happier and feel more self respect when
they can provide for themselves and their family and then reach

Several of you asked for the recipe for this cake from my previous
post and since I can't say no... here you go! ;D

"CINNAMON ROLL CAKE"

1 Yellow cake mix
4 Eggs
3/4 Cup of Wesson Oil
1 Cup Sour Cream

Mix and pour into a
Pam sprayed 9x13" pan.

Mix together;
1 Cup Brown Sugar
1 T. Cinnamon
Pour over cake batter. Swirl
into batter with a knife.
Bake at 325' for 30-40 min.
Cool slightly, 10-15 min.

"Glaze"
1 (3oz.) Phili Cream Cheese
that has been set out to soften.
1/4 Cup Butter, softened.
1 1/2 Cup Powdered Sugar
1/2 tsp. Vanilla
1/8 tsp. Salt
4-5 T. Milk or to your
desired thickness.
Spread over warm cake
let it all cool or serve warm
with some ice cream.

You will love this!!!

Just sharing...
This nest was built right outside my son's front door. I wondered
if the eggs were real and my sweet DIL said they were for sure.
I just love blue eggs like this...I remember the first time I saw blue
eggs... it was love at first sight!

Sophia is very mobile now, walking and climbing into and onto
everything! "Who me? Yes you sweetie pie!"

This tickles me...as we built homes I held my children in my
lap and pressed their little hand into fresh cement. A reminder
for years to come of how tiny their sweet hand was. Lindsey did
this same thing as they are now moving into their new home.

Our darling little MaKayla the soccer player and goal kicker!
She is such a cutie with big dimples in both of her sweet cheeks.

Emry...what a darling person she is...Happy 5th sweet girl!

Caleb and Ella...ready for church. What would a grandma and a
grandpa do without grand children? Life would just be too sad
for me...I love them each so very much!
