ALL ABOUT...COOKIES !!!

These pictures come from the most wonderful book: " COOKIES" by Amy Krouse Rosenthal
and illustrated by Jane Dyer. Every page is a delight and teaches lessons about life. What does "fair" and "unfair" mean, and what it really means to "cooperate", what it means to be "modest", or "Honest". This is a great book to share with children, teaching them values. Then make sure to bake a batch of cookies with them..what a delicious time that will be for you and your loved ones. Times never forgotten by children and their Mama's or Grandma's..the BEST of times.

I Love To Share Cookies..

These are THE BEST Chocolate Cookies EVER..Martha Stewart held a Cookie contest about

five years ago, the lady who won it submitted this very cookie..it made me so mad because I'd been baking it for years! I got it off the Hershey's Cocoa box.

The Chewy Chocolate Cookie...mixes in 5 minutes!

1 1/4 Cups butter or margarine, softened & 2 Cups Sugar...Cream together in a large bowl.

ADD: 2 Eggs & 2 teaspoons Vanilla; blend well.

ADD: 2 Cups unsifted all-purpose Flour & 3/4 Cup Coca powder & 1 teaspoon Baking Soda

1/2 teaspoon Salt; blend with creamed mixture. Stir in 1 Cup finely chopped nuts, optional.

Drop by teaspoonfuls onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake 10 minutes at 350' (do not over bake,

cookies will be soft. They will puff during baking, flatten upon cooling.) Cool on cookie sheet until set, about 1 min.: remove to wire rack to cool completely. 4 1/2 dozen.

This is a wonderful, can't get enough cookie.."PECAN CARROT COOKIES

2 sticks of Buttar (softened) AND 1/2 Cup Sugar AND 1/2 Cup packed Brown Sugar

Beat these 3 ingds. together for 2 minute

ADD: 1 Egg..& 1 Tablespoon grated orange peel & 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice.

Beat 1-2 minutes.

ADD: 2 1/4 of flour & 3/4 teaspoon Baking Soda & 1/2 teaspoon salt....at low speed, beat 1-2 minutes. Stir in by hand: 1 cup coconut & 1 cup coarsley chopped Pecans & 1 Cup shredded carrots. Drop on cookie sheet..Bake for 12 min. at 35

FROSTING: 2 Cups Powdered Sugar & 1 Tablespoon fresh grated orange peel and

2-3 Tablespoons of Orange juice. Frost when cookies are cooled.

Hope you'll enjoy all the above..and in parting, just to make sure the brain is still ok after all the sweet-talk...Q. Why did the cookie go to the doctor? A. Because it was feeling a bit crummy! AND Q. Why was the cookie crying? A. Because it's Mother had been a wafer so long! Next post..more on COOKIES!!! Chips-ahoy..over & out maties!

Sorry..I left one word out..on the carrot cookies, it's 2 1/2 CUPS of flour. The word "FLOUR" got left out! You most likely would know that anyway, I'm sure.
