A WINNER....THE WEEKEND...AND A COOKIE...

~THE WINNER OF MY VINTAGE APRON GIVEAWAY IS~

" BECKY "....at....**WRITING ON ROSE PETALS**

Becky said; "Count me in for the apron, I don't own an apron lol.
Do you believe it?! Oh, and my birthday is on Thanksgiving day,
it would be great gift!

Well Becky, I can't imagine anyone not having an apron, so here
you go, and just in time to enjoy it as you prepare for Thanksgiving!

( Becky, get back to me with your address and I'll get this apron and
some other goodies too... sent off to you right away! )

We got together with some of our family over
the weekend and I made one of these to share.

We have had some sunsets lately that turn our red mountains...

into the prettiest red/gold color. It just
makes me pull right over to snap a picture!

This little girl (Sophia) was here this weekend...
and it looks like she still fits into my kitchen sink!

My daughter Lindsey and I went shopping a bit on Saturday,
I bought this cute hat for Sophia and 6 flowers to go with it!

It's so much fun to have a baby in the family!
Everyone is constantly reaching for their camera
to get a pictures of her every move! I think she is
blowing kisses here...did you catch yours?! LOL

She has the most kissable cheeks...
I think we have all lost count of the
kisses her sweet cheeks get in a day!

I love to give my grands "Horsey- kisses."

I bury my face in their neck and whinny
like a horse and then add lots of kisses
on the neck! They love it, and some of the
toddlers even come up to me and request
one of grandma's horsey-kisses! And of course
I love it. My mom used to do that to me and my
brothers and sisters... it always gave me chills!

~Lindsey and Sophia~
Blooming and growing together

~A very sweet and happy little family~

Sophia is just 3 months old now and look at her!

She loves to stand up at her daddy's legs...it looks
like she is dancing! She is always wiggling and smiling!

I have had a few requests for this cookie recipe...
and it is such a good one! You can do the short cut
and use a cake mix but they are not nearly as good
as this recipe!

" PECAN CARROT COOKIES "

2 sticks of softened butter
1/2 cup of sugar
1/2 cup of packed brown sugar
Mix this together and beat for 2 minutes.

Add:
1 egg
1 T. grated orange peel
3 T. fresh orange juice
Beat 1-2 minutes

Add:
2 and 1/4 cups flour
3/4 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
On low, beat 1-2 minutes

Stir in by hand:
1 cup coconut
1 cup chopped Pecans
1 cup grated carrots
Mix all together...
Bake at 350' for 12 minutes.
~~~
"Orange Frosting"
2 cups powdered sugar
1 T. fresh grated orange peel
2-3 T. orange juice
Mix and frost cooled cookies
Try these...they are so delicious! Have a great week
all my bloggy friends...thanks for entering my vintage
apron giveaway and CONGRATULATIONS to my sweet
friend BECKY!
Your pictures are beautiful. That little girl is so sweet and cute. I am the same way...I could just kiss those little cheeks off.
The cookies sound delicious. I saved the recipe because I have a bake sale coming up in 2 weeks. Quck question for you though. Is that a greased, or ungreased, cookie sheet? I know it does make a difference on some cookies. Thanks....Hugs- Diana
Those kisses sound like fun! I remember my Mum saying 'would you like a butterfly kiss?' and I would laugh and say YES PLEASE!..and she would flutter her eyelashes against my cheeks,and I would laugh because it tickled so much! It's so nice that these traditions are passed down through the generations. :o)
