NEW HOUSE....WEDDING....MY BLOG IS GOING PRIVATE

SPRING... is officially supposed to be here, right?

Well, I don't see it anywhere do you? It is so cold here,
I just want to go hide under the covers all day! I am so
done with winter this year, we really have not had that
much snow but it has been cold!

It really is beautiful when we get some snow here...
the red rock surrounding our home just makes it all so pretty.

These views are all around our home, and we do enjoy it.

A bit of sun makes everything even more beautiful.

It really makes the colors pop!

The gate coming into our place...hard to see during the storm.

Me and our little granddaughter Sophia at another granddaughters
basketball game. We attended our local caucus meetings the other
night. During the opening prayer, some guys cell phone went of real loud
with; "The Good, The Bad and The Ugly"...only in redneck country!

Some of our family was in St. George, Utah...the southern and warm
part of the state this past weekend for a daughters wedding. We ate out
one night at Pizza and Pasta Factory...it was so so good! This old fire
engine sat out front and the little ones had fun on it.

Sophia loved that all the trees had lights on them.

Me and our fun little Sophia girl.

After dinner my husband always has to have a tooth pick...
and apparently so does Sophia...twiners for sure!

This place is just a cute little block full of art galleries and stores and eating places.

Jennifer and Brian Harris

Our daughter Jennifer married a nice man this weekend.
It is a second marriage so they wanted to keep it real
small with just immediate family.

It was a real nice wedding, our son in law Michael and I, sang a song for it.

Brian's grandpa and his sister Patty.

Jen and Brian with the missionaries who have had a big hand in good
things happening. We wish for them much happiness and a good life.

Also in St. George this weekend, the air force Blue Angels were putting
on an air show, so exciting.

We have bought a home in St. George, this hike is not too far away
and there are so many beautiful places to explore there.

This is our 1937 corner cottage home that we have bought in St. George.

It was so amazing how we found it, we had been looking for a home there
for 9 months. The realtor had shown us nothing but short sales, foreclosures
or trash! Almost anything that comes up for sale is gone in a blink and we just
could not find anything. We feel like the Lord lead us to this home for sure.

One day, we drove right on to this little home, there was a 8 x 11 homemade
sign under a scrub and a tiny sign in the side window. We got looking at it and
we liked what we saw, called the number and the lady selling it met us to show
us the home. She didn't want anything to do with relaters and that was just fine
with us. She is a very wealthy woman and had bought it for her son and his wife.

This is a side view of the house.

Turns out that her son couldn't find work and his wife mostly wanted to
go back home where her family was, so it was for sale. It is 2,000 sq. feet
bigger than it looks. It can have 5 bedrooms if we wanted, 2 full baths, air
conditioning, new plumbing and heat. A fenced in yard in back and it sits
right in the historic district of St. George. There is a really nice park with
a water feature and old pioneer building and carousel 2 blocks north of our
little home. The main city park is 3 blocks east of us and the beautiful
St. George Temple is 3 blocks from us, this street is not a through street,
so it's quiet with hardly any traffic.

The first thing we are going to do is put a white wood picket fence all
around the front yard and work on a little more curb appeal.

The side we park on, the house is open an all sides and I love that.

This is the back yard, see the old grape vines there, they
have been around for about 100 years, and they still produce.

Another side view...I love the old windows in it!

We stayed here for 3 days this past weekend, it was so warm, peaceful
and quiet. Then we drove home to snow and cold! There is just enough
in the home for me to do to have some fun. I want to do some painting
and new window treatments and a stone counter top, it will be lots of
fun. Turns out that this is a great time to buy with interest rates so low,
everything has just fallen in place.

I can't wait to pretty it up with a picket fence, take care of the rose bushes
and flowers already planted, add bird houses and bird baths and hammocks.
I am in love with all the little birds in the trees too, so pleasant to sit and listen,

"No matter what, no matter where...
It's always home if LOVE is there."

I haven't been blogging because I have spent the last week or so
packing and planning. It has been a busy couple of weeks!

See the little tower right behind this white temple? Well, our home
is 2 blocks from that little tower... I love this historic district.

This is just one angle of St. George...such a beautiful city!
Some day we will be there full time but not yet, for now we will be
there as much as we can on weekends.

Julie-First off, Congratulations on your daughter's marriage. Our oldest daughter also is married a 2nd time after an early disastrous union. She is the one that has the 3 little girls with this hubby and has been married for 10 years now. I am happy your daughter found someone and hope her life is filled with joy now.

That house is just wonderful. It is cute now but I can see it all dressed up with a white picket fence. God certainly led you right to that house. All in His time, isn't it?

Oh-I hope you will keep me on your list, Julie- I have come to love watching your family grow and change and you always inspire me with your love and complete trust in the Lord. We are getting ready to downsize, too, and I am finding it hard to let go...mainly because we thought this would be our forever house. God bless you as you make these changes and if you close the blog to only those that are related to you and/or your earliest followers I will certainly understand. xo Diana

Hi Julie,

So glad to hear things are going well with you and your family. Congratulations on the new, beautiful home! It looks adorable. What fun that will be for you to add your own personal touch to it. The touches that make a house...our own home...:) I know you will love St. George, it really is a beautiful city. My mom says the St. George temple was like their playground when she was growing up. I know she had to live very close. Small world!

The photos of your current home in the snow are very pretty. Somebody out there has to snatch up that treasure soon!

Yes, Julie I would love to be included in your new blog. My email address is: bonniejmattson@yahoo.com

I haven't been blogging so much lately as I have been doing a lot of technical writing for my genealogy blog but I am getting to a place where I need to get back to more casual writing. I have been thinking about going private too from time to time but there are already so many pictures of the kids out there in cyber space from various sources. It is a dilemma for sure.

Your new house looks so nice and so much less upkeep for you both. Have you sold your other house? Best wishes to your new little bride. Looks like you will be living near them. That is a plus!

Hugs to you for always being such a light to your readers! Bonnie

Love the new house, such a beautiful setting and sounds like you will enjoy slightly milder winters there. God's timing is always best, isn't it? When we are in His will, everything ...and I do mean EVERYTHING ...just falls into place.

I hope your current home sells quickly so you can enjoy your new home this spring. But everything in God's time, right? I trust that He is preparing the way for a wonderful family to come buy your current home.

Congratulations to the newlyweds and their families.

Yes, I would like to keep in touch. I posted just a few days ago about my decision whether to 'retire' my blog altogether. I've made wonderful friends through the blog, some that I've actually met in person. But I can't help but feel I could be so much more productive with my time.

Wow, Julie so much happening and it all sounds good. I'd love to continue following you too. (lhebler@verizon.net)

I had the life scared out of me back in Jan when I received an anonymous comment that someone from Brazil was impersonating me. When I went to the blogs (there were four) I found post after post filled with photos of my family. Many recent and many from long past. There were also family photos of another blogging friend. I was shocked. Thankfully most (I didn't make a stink about non-family photos) were removed.

I told my kids but they all thought I should continue. That is why I now add a watermark to photos I post. I can't, however, begin to mark all of the past ones.

Well, sweet Julie, sending best wishes as you prepare to move into your new home!

I love the new house you have chosen. It looks so cozy.

We have had unbelievable weather here in Wisconsin. Normally we have weather like your snowy pictures in March. For some reason we have been in the 70s and all our snow is melted. It is so very odd. We usually don't have weather like this until May. I feel like your winter storms are going to come and hit us here in Wisconsin yet.

Julie, you have a such a beautiful family and I understand about your wanting to 'go private.' It shows what a small world it is because this evening I had dinner with a dear friend who is also moving to St. George in June. She and her husband are retiring and bought their house last year, remodeled it, and are excited like you are for their next chapter of their lives to begin--Their move also includes being closer to family. But her son and his family also keep their blog private for the very same reasons--I also don't show the blogs of my friends who have children on my page for those reasons that you mentioned. But I would really love to continue to read about your life, your family and adventures, and keep up with your blog--My e-mail address is, kimwnva@aol.com

By the way, I wish your daughter and her husband many, many years of happiness together!!! :-)

We came home from Provo via St. George instead of Kanab and think that will be our usual route from now on. We could see the temple so clearly from the freeway. Next time I better stop. marysue85023@gmail.com

So many changes for you honey but all good. Love the pic's of your beautiful daughter and her wedding. Glad you shared these and the others of your new home are wonderful.
I wish my home in town would sell. Of course it would help if I would advertise it. lol
Of course I want to keep reading you. Blogging would not be the same. I understand going private. That's why I don't have pictures of my grand children on my site.

Congratulations on the marriage of your daughter...May they be very happy... And on finding such a beautiful home in wonderful ST George! My in laws were snow birds there for years and lived the early part of their marriage there. I love the temple is so close to your new home. We are only 1.5 miles from the temple and I love having one so close.
Please include me on your private blog even though I haven't been a great blogger lately. I always love to see what is happening with some women I have come to feel a bond with and really look up to. You are a WONDERFUL example of a wife, mother and grandmother! c.annie77@msn.com

Bless your heart and good luck with all you have going on:)
