~ DEEP BEAUTY ~

What is...DEEP BEAUTY?

This beautiful woman is 97 years old...to me she radiates deep beauty.

What gives us "that beauty" we all want to have and retain for our whole life time?

Does money spent to get rid of all our wrinkles do it?

Will the costly ointments of the world do it?

Can the renowned and well used plastic surgeons do it for us?

Where is that famous fountain of youth?

Surely, there is a worldly solution that will fix this age old problem...right?

And we "must" fix it... Or we won't be good enough!

Perhaps Deep Beauty is found in remembering

who we are.. and.. walking in the paths of virtue.

We are elect. We are daughters of God.We cannot be a generation of
women who are content to fit in.

We must have the courage to stand out;

"Arise and shine forth, that thy light may be a standard for the nations."

The world will have good women believe that they are not significant...that they are old fashioned and out of touch.

The world calls us with unrelenting, noisy voices to... "live it up"..."try everything"..."experiment and... be happy!"

The Lord invites us to "walk in the paths of virtue"...lay aside the things of the world.
This is a magnificent time to be on the earth and to be a woman contrary to
what and how the world portrays women today.

We are women of great faith.

We brought our faith with us when we came to earth...(just look into a baby's sweet face)
and now we are here to do what we have been reserved and prepared to do.

Each of us has a divine heritage.
We are literally the royal daughters of our Father in Heaven.
Each of us was born to be a queen.

'Deep Beauty"...the kind of beauty that shines from the inside out.

When I look into an older womens face, I don't even see wrinkles, just deep beauty.

It is the kind of beauty that...
Cannot be painted on.
Surgically created or purchased.
It is the kind of beauty that doesn't wash off.
It is spiritual attractiveness.

Deep beauty springs from virtue. It is the beauty of being chaste
and morally clean. It is the kind of beauty that you see in the eyes of virtuous
women like your mother or grandmother. It is the beauty that is earned
through faith, repentance and honoring covenants.

The world places so much emphasis on physical attractiveness...But the Lord would

tell you that you are each uniquely beautiful. When you are virtuous, chaste and

morally clean, your inner beauty glows in your eyes and in your face.

Look into the right mirror...the mirror of eternity. Remember who you are...
You are elect. You are of noble birth. Don't compromise your divine inheritance.

Develop deep beauty. There is no more beautiful sight than a woman

who glows with the light of the spirit,

who is confident and courageous because she is virtuous.


Remember Heavenly Father loves you so much that
he sent His Son to show you the way to live so that
you could return to Him someday.

We can find courage and strength in this promise...
that the Lord will always be there for us and will never leave us alone.

As one of His precious daughters, you have access to
His assurance and guidance through the power of prayer.

He will always be with us and guide us if we let him...
Then we will not be miss-guided by what the world tells us
that we have to do and be... to be beautiful.

Deep beauty... is a gift from Heaven...it is free to us,
it is what we were meant to be all along.

HEALING UP....

OK...I'll be honest and tell you that I don't feel this good yet...but I am getting there!

I've been sitting in my comfortable chair...reading and

looking out the window watching the antics of the horses every afternoon.

On a warm day I went out and sat on the haystack

and just absorbed the sun and watched all our animals...very peaceful and healing.

Yes, I look "not so good" but it sure felt good to be outside...

And Cougar is right at my side every moment...so happy to have me out and with him.

I love to just sit and watch the horses eat...so peaceful~

A beautiful view to take in...and good company.

Fun even to watch the chickens doing their thing...all so healing~

I've had a few nights where I could not sleep...at all

...it's so weird to not be able to get to sleep all night long...but the moon kept me company.

So many sweet friends have come by bringing gifts...

And flowers...I love tulips!

And Easter cup cakes...YUM!

Tuesday the 6th will be two weeks since my surgery...I think I am healing.

Today I vacuumed... (I know I'm not to be doing that but I felt good)...dusted the wood floors and the furniture, took the winter bedding of and put on the white, lighter bedding...went to the post office and the grocery store, and put a new post on the blog.

I haven't hit the wall yet, I feel pretty good.

Our kids are coming for a few days visit this weekend and I'm so excited....they may have to help out a lot but it will be so good to have them here.


I have so enjoyed all of you and your wonderful Easter posts...
Now if Spring will really get here, that would be nice.
We are to get 12-24 " of new snow in these South Central mountains tonight!

~He Sent His Son~

How could the Father tell the world of love and tenderness?

He sent His Son, a new born babe, with peace and holiness.

How could the Father show the world the pathway we should go?

He sent His Son to walk with men on earth, that we may know.

How could the Father tell the world of sacrifice, of death?

He sent His Son to die for us and rise with living breath.

What does the Father ask of us? What do the scriptures say?

Have faith, have hope, live like his Son, help others on their way.

What does he ask?...........Live like his Son.

Why seek ye the living
among the dead?
~He Is Risen~

Of all the commands ever given in the history of kings and generals and rulers, Pilate's command to keep the sepulchre sure was perhaps the most futile.

What chance did the sepulchre have of remaining sealed? In reality, there was no way for the soildiers to carry out that order as there was no way that the sepulchre would not open:

"Behold, there was a great earthquake: for the angel of the Lord descended from Heaven, and came and rolled back the stone from the door" (Matthew 28:2)

Because of the unsealing of that one sepulchre, all vaults, and tombs and sepulchres that have ever been sealed will open. Guaranteed.

The Rock of Our Salvation is our deliverer from death and from hell. He is "the resurrection, and the life" (John 11:25)

Because of Him "hell must deliver up its captive spirits, and the grave must deliver up its captive bodies, and the bodies and the spirits of men will be restored one to the other;
and it is by the power of the resurrection of the Holy One of Israel" (2 Nephi 9:12)

~Resurrection Rolls~

Cresant Rolls
melted butter
large marshmallows
cinnamon
sugar

Take one triangle....it represents the cloth Jesus was wrapped in.

Dip a 1/2 marshmallow in melted butter....it represents Jesus, and the oils of embalming.

Then dip the marshmallow in the cinnamon and sugar....this represents the spices used to anoint the body of Jesus.

Wrap the coated marshmallow tightly in the cresant roll, seal on all sides....this is like the wrapping of His body after death.

Put the wrapped 1/2 marshmallow in a cupcake paper and into the muffin tin.

Bake at 350* for 10-12 minutes.
The oven represents the tomb.

Take out...when rolls have cooled slightly, open the rolls (or cloth) and see that
Jesus is no longer there.....He is Risen...(the roll is puffed up but empty.)

A fun and good object lesson for our children or grand children of any age.

I hope you are all having a wonderful Easter weekend...
I have been so filled this sacred weekend...sending out all my
love to each of you my friends.

EASTER...CARROT CAKE...KIDS AND CONFERENCE~

~ BEST CARROT CAKE EVER ~

Cream together ;

1 1/2 Cups Wesson Oil

2 Cups Sugar

3 Eggs

Add:

2 Cups grated carrots ( 3 lg. carrots)

1 Cup crushed pineapple..drained

2 1/2 Cups of flour

1 tsp. Baking Soda

1/2 tsp. Salt

2 tsp. Cinnamon

Mix together.. then add;

2 tsp. Vanilla

1 Cup nuts/ and optional..1Cup Raisins.

Beat all together well..
pour into greased & floured 9x13 pan

Bake at 325* for 55 minutes. Cool.

"FROSTING"

1 Box Powdered Sugar (or 3-4 Cups)

1 Stick Soft Butter

3 oz. Phili Cream Cheese

1 tsp. Vanilla

A little milk if needed..

Mix, and frost & decorate cake.

Hope you will love this cake as much as I do, it's a good family tradition
and the best carrot cake recipe I have ever found!

the chicken doesn't even realize he's caught!

Caleb sat on my lap such a long time,
watching video's of Uncle Michael riding his trials bike,
saying; " Varoom... Varoom!"

He'd climb up on top of the little dog, onto the lamp table and over the back of the couch!

Caleb was up, over and into everything in such a cute way!

I love this weekend..it is our church's General Conference,
two days of wonderful talks by church leaders and beautiful music
by The Tabernacle Choir,
family visits..most especially the grand kids, and good food.

Conference is always so uplifting, helping me to keep my focus on the solid,
trust-able things of life. I'm so grateful for the Savior's gospel and that He is in charge of this world and leading us everyday with his great love and tender mercies.

~HAPPY EASTER~

I just had to share this bit of Easter sweetness...one of our little
grandsons and his new bunny... he named her Ruby.
Good thing his mommie had bunnies all her growing up years,
Ruby will get good care.



You have all been so sweet to me...it has truly melted my heart...
I just love each and every one of you!

So now I want to share a bit of sweetness but of a different kind, with you.

You've got to try these...they won the Ultimate Recipe showdown on the Food Network channel..they are so good, you can't stop popping them into your mouth!

They are a mini-cupcake with a HUGE, good taste..you'll love them.

"BABY CAKES"

Combine in a bowl & set aside;

1/2 tsp.Baking Soda

1 tsp. Salt

1 1/2 tsp. Baking Powder

2 1/4 Cups Flour

Mix together;

3 Eggs

1/4 Cup Clover Honey

1/2 Cup Light Brown Sugar

3/4 Cup White Sugar

3/4 Cup Unsalted Butter, softened.

ADD:

2 tsp. Cinnamon

1 (40z.) jar of "pumpkin with pears" baby food

2 (4oz.) jars "applesauce & apricots" baby food

FOLD IN:

1/2 Cups ground pecans...

Slowly add the flour mixture, and mix til all ingds. are evenly mixed.

Fill mini baking cups (2"..non-foil) in a mini muffin pan.

Bake at 350* for 12 minutes...cool on a rack for 5-7 min.(in the fridge) frost
(makes 44 baby cakes)

OR...you can do normal size cupcakes....

"Frosting"

The quickest way is to use a Cream Cheese frosting...add 1 tsp. of Almond Extract, mix it in and frost. Decorate for any season...they are mouth-watering!

I couldn't resist this little guy..a little Pygmy goat named "OREO".
He is owned by a friend(Cathy Brian) he looks just like the little Pygmy goat we had, whose name was Auggie..the lady that bought our house kept him because she had a herd of goats,
and Auggie had never been with goats before, so he loved it!

Milk..my favorite drink too, especially with cookies..
but I"ll have mine cold please!

This little guy is SO cute..have you ever let a baby calf suck on your fingers?

How does she do it? I thought nursing one was a full time job!

This little lamb knows where to go to get a belly full of warm, sweet milk!

Isn't this little lamb just the picture of purity, innocence, softness and vulnerability ?
I love it's little pink nose & ears...I just wanted to cuddle it!

I thought these sheep and their babies were so cute,
the Mom's were leery of a stranger...as all good Mom's should be!

Ron & I saw this batch of white-faced babies,
all together in "the nursery"...their Mommies were very protective
and wouldn't let us get too close.
We are surrounded by lots of farms here in Utah, love all the babies!

My Baby "Cougar"...this was when he was 5 months old now..looking like he's going to be BIG,
And boy is he ever! He thinks he still fits in my lap too!

I love Spring..even if we do get a lot of wind, because the rest of the year is wonderful. Long Summer/Fall is my favorite, then winter with it's holidays..the Sun shines most of the year
here, which is so great for my attitude!

One of the best things about Spring is the babies...they are everywhere!
Baby lamb's, calves, foals, even lamas, baby chickens, puppies, kittens, and the human kind too!

I've enjoyed watching them, holding them...worrying about them on those cold Spring nights! I don't know how these babies can take it..being born on cold nights with snow and freezing temperatures, trying to find the warmth of their Mommies and something warm to fill their little tummies.

How would you like to be born outside, in freezing weather..your all wet, cold and hungry? I don't know how they make it at all..a friends little foal didn't, it got sick and within 3 days it died.

I'm so glad that the Lord has allowed us to be the stewards over these wonderful creatures, I love to take care of mine. I can crawl into my warm bed on a cold winters eve and sleep well knowing that my animals are in their little beds, warm, fed, and safe.

I'm so glad that my Dad taught me to love animals and to take care of them. I believe he was a true horse whisperer long before there was such a term. I'm so thankful that God gave us animals to help us, to comfort us, to make us laugh..to know and feel of there love for us, even though sometimes we are not worthy of their love.

I hope you'll look around you and "See" God's beautiful creatures,
respect & love them and do for them what they cannot do for themselves.

I hope you'll enjoy Spring with it's Babies...
and try the Baby Cakes... they are addicting-ly good!
