OUR WEEKEND OF GOOD DEALS....

I have seen these glass chickens before but never a red one, so I was so happy to find this one.
I think it's a little candy dish...it sure is pretty sitting by a window,
the sun shines through it and it just glows... Such a fun find for $10.00!

I loved this old typewriter...it was only $24.00 and it even
came with a ribbon and it works...very cool.

I have been wanting a set like this for a long time, they are so bright and cute!
The whole thing with the pitcher and basket was $32.00...
I just love it on my kitchen counter!

I think my Mom had a set like this so for sure I loved them...just $6.00

Ron and I went to this place called..."Gardners Village"...
it's an old mill in the Salt Lake City area. It has always been my favorite place to go and shop.
Each shop is a little old house or cottage with different themes. Usually I have gone with my daughters but it was fun to go with my hubbie!
They have 2 covered bridges there...lined with all kinds of cowboy boots...cute!

My honey...isn't he a sweetie-pie?! LOL
He doesn't like to smile for a picture, so I had to
say something to him that he liked!

So many pretty things to see...you walk in and beautiful music is playing,
makes me want to start waltzing!

Outside, between the cottages are beautiful flowers everywhere.
You should see this place during each holiday....wowza!

So many pretty things to adore....

Isn't this the sweetest little dress?! I should have bought it for our
newest little grand daughter but it was costly!

I feel so feminine in this shop...it just takes one away!

The main part is the old mill...it is full from top to bottom with everything you would
just love to buy! And there is a most delicious place to eat there too so we had lunch and it was so good!

The ole water wheel...it's so peaceful there to sit and listen to the water...

I also have been wanting one of these forever...it looks so pretty sitting
on my kitchen counter and I will store all my goodies here!

Another good deal...$50.00 sunglasses...on sale for $12.00...can't beat that!

And then last but not least...we bought this grizzly bear lamp...it's huge and
very beautiful. Our home is more rustic so it fits in beautifully!

Several had asked to see the goodies from our weekend adventure up north...
(that's what we say when we go to Salt Lake City...up north...it's 3 hours north of us)

So there you go...a very fun trip with the Hubbie and goodies to enjoy in our home too,
A very fun weekend trip indeed, sometimes I think a short trip is as good as a vacation!

~I hope you are having a great week~

It looks like you had a wonderful time. How nice that hubby went along with you-that probably doesn't happen very often when you go shopping?!? Loved all the pics...but especially love the little red hen. I have some milk glass ones from my hubby's grandmother and have one to give to each child. Have a great day-Diana

Woot! What awesomely fantastic finds and treasures. You DID have fun and it will continue to make you smile for years to come.
I love all your buys. And what a smile you got from your Marine. Makes me wonder what you said to him..... :-)
Hope you are staying cool!
I love having a domed cake plate on my counter too. It makes me intentionally keep things under that cover that are yummy. Most common is bagels... but just had the last brownie taken last night!!
And a weekend away is almost better to me than a vacation. I don't like to be away from home long.... silly homebody... Hugs to you!

Wow, Julie you Truly scored over the trip up north. For some reason I always pictured your place north of SLC. We are going to the place where the cougars reside on Saturday for a few weeks to be with kids and grandies and to just go some place because we can! Retirement is awesome!

I love Gardner's Village too. Such fun shopping and the ambiance is great. I never get out of there without buying something. I also love Taipan up that way. And The Porch in Springville. They have some fab shopping throughout the valley. I bet your lamp looks great in your home. Still lovin' your mantel!

Take care sorry I have been somewhat absent lately...just trying to adjust to the new lifestyle and having a little too much fun!

Hugs, Bon

The red chicken would be pretty in the sun. My grandma had a goldish one. Wonder what my aunt did with it!?! Looks like a pretty place. The ferris wheel with the flowers. Neat bridge with with boots on it. I like the pitcher and glass set and the cake dome would be cool to have out on the counter.

Hi Julie, what wonderful goodies you got, I love that bear lamp, I love the idea of a rustic cabin home especially for Fall and Winter, do you have a big stone fireplace in yours? I'd love that too.

I am picturing my little Riley someday in that little girl's dress. You did alright on your shopping spree. I love outings like that where you don't have to rush and can just waltz around and pick something nice to take home. I love the cake dome and always wanted one but never think of buying one when I am shopping. I'm sure there will always be something scrumpdillyishus under that dome that you have made. The grandkids will love to peak under there when they visit :) So.....what did you say to that sweet guy, anyway? Hugs, Deb =^..^=x5

I guess this is a real man question.

It gives me ideas of places to see when I am in Utah. DUP Museum is one of my favorite places that I recently found and I always have to drive around the Temple in SLC.
