" WHAT A GOOD DAY ".....

This morning as I got up, this heavy looking cloud was
hanging out in the fields in front of us, it looked like somewhere
in the mid-west this morning...all dewy and misty.
We have had so much rain and moisture this summer... it's usually very dry.

This cloud was laying right down on the ground...just beautiful...
I am loving the rain, and we even got a down pour
of hail right in the middle of a sunny day...awesome!

I am preparing for a visit with our daughter and new grand baby
(coming any day) So.... I am making home made bread and
strawberry freezer jam~

( If you haven't yet tried this recipe for bread, please go check it out...
it's in my September 09' post...BEST bread ever...from start to
finish, 90 minutes with no second rising, turns out perfect every time!
Just follow the easy instructions exactly please.
It is the most mouth-watering...divine...delicious bread ever! )

Eating cake and apricots...YUM!

-and-

Making little girl dresses!

(Remember, I don't know how to do this but I want to so bad,
I'm trying, and this is what I came up with!)

4 of them are for the new baby girl to be...Sophia
and 2 are for nearly one year old Ella.

I am teaching myself how to sew little dresses...
For you who are expert sewers...don't look too close please!

I put material together until I like the combination...figuring it out as I go.

Adding detail and cute trims to them...

Using scraps of old material and some new...

Making little fabric roses which I have never made before...

Creativity is such a blessing to us....

I just ask for a bit of help from Heaven...

and the help comes...what a sweet gift from above!

Much has been accomplished today...the farmer got his hay all bailed...
and the tourists are taking pictures of this too.

And it is beautiful...I imagine he offered prayers for help over his crops too.

Oh, and look what else the cats drug in to play with
(besides that cute little baby cotton tail bunny in the
previous post)...a lizard! He didn't fair as well as the
bunny did. I don't know why this struck me as funny but it did...
another belly-up lizard bites the dust...well... this is the Wild West you know!

It's been a busy day...we are all tuckered out

So, how was your day my friend?

I hope you are having a good summer.

I know I'll sleep well tonight.

Gorgeous scenery! The weather is odd in many places this year. Our summer is hotter and more humid than it has been in a long time.

Adorable baby girl clothes. I love to sew and quilt and feel blessed to have the summer off to indulge a few of my hobbies.

I am definitely making your bread recipe this week. I have attmepted a few recipes over the year, with not the best results. My neice and I made pizza dough last week and it worked. I promise to follow the directions exactly!

Hi Julie,
I love the dresses you have made for the little girls! My goodness, they are cute! And the lizard, well he's not too cute any more. I can't imagine having lizards around here. Our kitty catches and kills bats though. She is quite the talented feline as she jumps in the air and brings them down.

Not funny for the lizard but it is funny for some reason.
This week has been full of visiting the grandbabies from Colorado.

Julie you are one talented woman! I don't know where you find the time or energy!
The bread looks divine and the little dresses are all so adorable - You have a gift just to be able to put them together like that.
The farmers field with the baled hay is soooooo gorgeous! I love when the hay is rolled like that and when we are on trips I will often stop to photograph fields just like that.
The lizard is pretty funny. Reminds me of a cartoon character almost. Poor thing.
Summer is hot - thank goodness for A/C and in your case rain today!

I'm off to check out the bread recipe.

Awwwww those little dresses are ADORABLE!!!! I can see why the tourists take pictures of your place, your hay, just your property!!!

The lizard picture is too funny. That is what our last outside cat did to baby bunnies :( It always upset me so much. Mama Kitty used to only bring dead birds to my porch but when I caught her with a bird and swatted her yelled at her NO, she dropped the bird and it flew away. She has never brought another bird (to kill) to the doorstep.

That bread looks delicious and I know you can't wait for your visit!♥

My day...trying to talk my father who is in heart failure to not go to his cabin or else dont work when he gets there. He is going down hill kind of fast, so our worries are a little more heavier than usual.

Every time I read your posts I feel so at home and relaxed. Your blog is like a comfy robe, it always feels good.

Oh, how I wish I had half your talents as a homemaker! Maybe I should be asking for help from God and see what fruits come from that instead of always needing to feel in control of my nesting?

Ya know......that looks like heaven on earth to me. What could be better? Waking up to some rain, sewing (wish I knew how) baking some bread (and while we are on the subject....that is the best smell on earth). I'm fixing to make my peach jam and peach syrup here soon.
The lizard is gross, but the way he is splayed out with his arms like that is funny.
I'm going to try your bread recipe and I'll post about it (only if it turns out looking good though).
I'm off to register my three youngest for the next school year. I'm also heading up the school's annual peach fundraiser. YUM!

Hi Julie - You are one amazing woman. I am at awe of people who can sew like that. The outfits are adorable. I will try your bread recipe. It looks amazing. The lizard picture is comical but I get mad at my lot when I find a dead mouse at the door. Then I have to remember that that's their nature and you can't change it. Your home is lovely and so different. You are very lucky in so many ways. And another grand-child..wow! By the way, your profile pic that you have posted is lovely. You are a very beautiful looking lady. Have a great day. Deb =^..^=x5
