A NIGHT WITH FRIENDS....

We had a great evening here the other night.

This cabin belongs to my husband's brother...
They have been working on it for about the last
five years. It is a long way from any main road,
so it's been quite the task to get materials hauled
up that far to build it. It is really huge...
(14 bedrooms and a bathroom for every 2 bedrooms!)

They have their own lake with paddle boats
and the lake is filled with fish too and some
pesky beavers.

Some years our church has held their annual girls camp up here.

The views out of the tall windows is really pretty.

The wood beams inside are gigantic!

Ron's brother Newell and his wife Gloria...such a sweet couple!

It was just starting to get dark as we got there.

It's so hard to get a good picture sometimes...
especially when you are feeling SILLY :D

The guys out chatting it up around the fire...

Yes, one more bond fire before cold weather hits us.

The guys were cooking us ladies some steaks...YUM!

We had around 12 couples there and we all
brought food to share.... I brought brownies.

~O' BABY ROCKS~

Preheat oven to 350'
Put 1 stick of butter in a 9x13 pan
put it in the oven while it preheats,
to melt the butter...spread it over pan.

Sprinkle a box of Brownie mix (just as it is)
over the melted butter.

Next, sprinkle over the brownie mix:
1 cup shredded coconut
1 cup butterscotch chips
1 cup semi-sweet chips
1 cup chopped pecans

Drizzle 1 can of Eagle brand
(sweetened condensed mild)
over all of this.

Bake 30 minutes or until
edges are bubbly.
Cool before cutting...
makes 24..2 inch bars

These are SO DANG GOOD...
and the aroma of them is to die for!

Our church's General Conference is going on this weekend.
It has been so awesome...I have loved every word spoken
and every beautiful song sung by the Tabernacle Choir.

Have a great Sabbath day eveyone...love you all :D

What a great cabin and country to take it easy in. Hope you enjoy your weekend and who doesn't like conference? Well maybe when I was a small girl I wasn't so interested in what all those old men had to say!

Wow what a spectacular cabin. I would tend to call that a mansion, not a cabin. Cabins here in Australia are little one or two bedroom buildings. It looks as though you had a wonderful weekend of good food, beautiful surroundings & lovely company. Thanks for Sharing.

So sweet of your Bro. and Sis. in law to let the girls use their cabin for girls camp! I remember as a girl, we had a wonderful family in our ward that let us use their cabin up at Sundance for a daddy-daughter camp out ! We had a blast!! All those girls giggling and chatting all night. The Dad's all slept on the floor in the great room and tried to get some sleep :)
Conference was wonderful! I feel spiritually fed and I loved the talk by Pres. Monson on gratitude !
How blessed we are !!
Have a happy day :)

Wow I am in awe! That house/cabin is enormous and SOOOO beautiful! I love all the decking around the whole thing.
That is so neat that they share their home with the Young Women for girls camp - I am sure they probably bless many peoples lives with their home.
Just neat!
Conference was wonderful - It is truly 2 of my most favorite weekends of the year.
Those brownies made me gain 5 pounds just from looking at the picture but they look soooooo goood!
Thanks for sharing the recipe :-D

O Baby I've got to try that recipe. Those look like the perfect Conference snack! ;o) Usually we end up popping peanut M&M's for 48 hours straight. These would be a nice change of pace. I loved conference too. Such inspirational talks. What a gorgeous home and beautiful setting to get together as family!
