CLUCKING RIGHT ALONG...(to Shelia's chicken party)

This is mostly true around here...we mothers just have to go one mothering!

Shelia is so good at gathering blog sisters for a party...

Hope you will come join in too!

I love chickens so much that I even have dishes with chickens on them!

My daughter Lindsey painted this for me about

4 years ago when she was in high school. I have

always loved it and I have always loved chickens.

I was raised on a farm and we always had chickens,

as I have made my own life, I have had chickens and

I hope to always have them. I just love the comfort and

joy they bring to my life. They are amazing little gifts

from God!

I have so many scattered around my home that I could give everyone

in blog land a chicken and still have some left! I hope you like my chickens!

I like them in many colors...

I like big fat ones made of tin...

Pretty blue & white porcelain ones...

And this family of chickens that sit on top of my cabinets...

And you know with this many chickens, we get lots of eggs...

This tall red guy sits way up high watching over all...

This chicken plaque sits over a big kitchen window...

This chicken bucket sits way up high to...

This one guards the beans... and you thought

the guardian of Bush beans was a dog!

This one is old and he sits in my laundry room...

I think he likes the hummm of the dryer!

These two tiny ones sit on top of my spice rack...

My daughter who painted my rooster picture above...

I just love this pair of love birds...

This guy sits on top of my big island, he is in charge of the baking...

This is one, of a set of 6 farm plates from Williams Sonoma...

A set of crocks that I love...One holds cookies, it's my favorite!

More chickens in the corner...

This is a really big, fat one...it sits on my kitchen table in a basket...

My kitchen chair pads, love them!

I think, because I love being a mother, I love this little mother hen...

This one sits way up high on top of a book shelf ...

These two greet everyone at the front door...

This one stands guard in the front foyer window...

This plaque sits right inside my front door, but you can stay for free!

Love this big beautiful hen too...

My favorite picture ever, you see, I think that is me!

I told you this one is in charge of the baking...

Now come meet my yard birds...this is a new mama. I am not

sure she wants you looking at her new babies though...

See, she has hidden every one of them! Come on dear,

it's Shelia's chicken party, won't you share?

"Oh, alright, but just two of them!"... "Hello ladies, hope you will like us too!"

"Come on little dears, time to go home now...thanks for stopping by ladies!"

And thanks to sweet Shelia for the gathering of the hens,

she always makes it a fun party!

~MY LOVE TO ALL~

Oh Julie, I so wish I could have joined in with this party but can you believe that I have no roosters or chooks in my home! I'm going to have to do something about it so that I can join in next time!

You have quite a collection Julie and how amazing that you have the real things too!

Best wishes and have a happy week!
Natasha.

Julie, what a lovely post, I cannot decide which rooster or hen is my favorite, I love them all. I can't even decide which photo I love the best, I think Mama Hen hiding her baby chicks is precious. I especially love the painting your daughter did, she is very talented. xo,

I have looked for your house, but I don't think we pass it. We go I15 down past Beaver then we turn off on 20 and then head to Panguitch and Kanab. What highway are you on?

Beautiful chickens, Julie...in the house AND the yard!

Our three mature hens have really slacked off of laying eggs in this horrible heat wave we're experiencing but the four little pullets we bought this spring are just staring to lay. First eggs are so tiny and perfect. I have a partial dozen in my fridge right now ...five 'normal' size from the mature hens and four itty bitty eggs from the new pullets. Both odd looking and adorable, at the same time.

I give them all bonus points for laying at all in this weather. I should take a picture and do a post on my odd dozen.

I don't think I've ever seen so many chickens! I love them all... From now on I won't think of you as Julie. You will from now on be the chicken lady. What do you think?

Oh Julie...you have the best chickens. I love the one by the beans the best.
I am so sorry about your sister. Please tell her that I care and that many people care. Cancer is horrible, I hate it, I hate having it...and I hate that more people get it. I pray that there is some help for her. You know, I technically shouldn't be here, but the Lord has blessed me.
But as my 83 year old aunt tells mee, we always want ONE MORE DAY!

what a wonderful collection you have. This reminded me of my grandmother. She collected roosters and had a cabinet filled with all kinds of them

I love this post because I love my rooster and chicks, too. Oh I don't have any real ones now, but I was raised on a farm so I know all about gathering eggs from beneath a hen who might peck your hand! I always loved listening to the hens, they sound so happy. Your collection is fabulous and I think your daughter is a terrific painter!
