BACK FROM GRANDMA HEAVEN....

Look what I've been loving on....new little baby Sophia Jane.

I cannot even begin to tell you of the joy and great Heavenly happiness
that this past week has brought to my heart. To be at my daughters
side as she gave birth to her first baby was one of the greatest joys of this
life time.
So, let me share with you some of the moments of that beautiful day~

To me there is nothing like holding a loved family member...
no matter their size, but I have to say, this size tops my list!

I got a call from my SIL Michael at 7:30 am...they were on their way to the hospital!!!

I threw my mostly packed bags in the car and headed to where they live. I have to
say that I don't usually drive 90 mph, but I didn't want to miss the birth of Sophia.
I am very sure that I got there in one piece because of my dear guardian angels!

I was so glad that Lindsey wouldn't let them break her water until I got there.
She had already been given an epidural and was ready to go...so with a
hug and a kiss, it all began.

Sweethearts since 8th grade and partners for this life and for all eternity...
ready to begin this life's journey of parenthood.

Her labor had begun at 3:00 am, if it hadn't they would have induced her
the next day and she didn't want that to happen. I got there at 11:00 am
and it all started in a serious way.

The epidural wore off right away and the
anesthesiologist came in and gave her a stronger dose and it wore off right
away too...even after a 3rd dose...it just wouldn't hold so Lindsey gave birth
at about 80% natural.

Lots of texting going on to family outside the hospital as t it gets exciting!

Welcome to the world...Sophia Jane

8lbs. 9 oz. and 20 1/2 " long

Lots of beautiful hair

Her weight was exactly that of her mom's!

Lindsey had pushed hard for 2 hours...
Sophia was transverse and posterior so
it was hard on Sophia and her mommie.

But finally here she came, she was laid up on her mom
and she immediately grabbed a hold of he mommies finger!

She was grunting instead of breathing so they whisked her off
to the nursery where she stayed on oxygen until 2:00 am.

She kept crossing her 2nd toe over her big toe but they finally got the footprints.

Sweet little footprints that will be forever in our hearts!

Lindsey was exhausted but it's amazing how strong a new mom is...

Now they two are a family....Families are Forever
Thank you Heavenly Father for such a blessing!

Lindsey in the nursery bonding with little Sophia

Look at this gorgeous head of hair! It is kind of dark
at the ends but from the roots, it's blond!

Lindsey's sister Tiffany and her husband and children
looking in the nursery window at their new little cousin.

The day after Sophia's birth...A mothers great joy...daughters!

Sophia loves music and voices...she calms right down to listen and looks right into your face.

Going home from the hospital...SO CUTE!

She had to have a light panel on her back for one day...
I thought she looked like a little glow-worm!

She always has her hands up by her face and she loves to sit with her hand under her chin!

At home there is quick cat-naps to be had...they are both exhausted.

I stayed with them for a week and it was pure Heaven!
To be there for my daughter and to get to love on Sophia
was all that a Mom could ask for...loved it every moment!

Her first bath...at first she cried a bit then settled right down and enjoyed it so much!

Sophia is such a good baby...she is a great little nurser, what a blessing that is and she hardly cries at all~She is trying to get her nights and days worked out and that is kind of hard but it's
what we all did and it gets better as time goes along.

Sophia smiles all the time and it's so fun to try to capture her smiles.
Her mom and dad have taken a ton of pictures of her already...me too!

So here I am with number 20th grandchild...each one brings so much love into a family!
Almost more than our hearts can hold...each one such a precious gift from God. Our hearts grow bigger and bigger with every child and grandchild. What
a great blessing to be entrusted with one of his...to raise as our own!

I will post more pictures very soon of my week at their home...

I have missed all of you, my sweet friends...I will try my best
to get caught up with your posts! Sending all my love to each of you!
