AS I HAVE LOVED YOU....

For this beautiful Sabbath day...a thought from our Savior, Jesus Christ.

" As I have loved you...Love one another...

This new commandment...Love one another.

By this shall men know...Ye are my disciples.

If ye have love one to another.

The President and Prophet of our church, Thomas S. Monson recently had a birthday...many wishes and gifts were coming to him but he said what he really wanted for his birthday was, for all of us to do something kind for someone else...that is what he wanted more than anything.

People responded in a million ways..one group of Primary children and their teachers got a big glass jar and every Sunday as the children came to Primary, they would put a little "warm fuzzie" in this tall glass jar to represent something good or kind they had done for someone else. Before long..it was full...and the love gained and the lessons learned will last a life time. They gave the jar to Pres. Monson and he said he was moved to tears of joy and that it was the best birthday gift ever!

This would be a good idea for all of us...and our children.

~AS I HAVE LOVED YOU...LOVE ONE ANOTHER~

The wonderful thing about doing nice and kind things for others and treating them with loving kindness is that not only does it make them happy, but surprisingly makes us happy too!And the kindnesses seem to be contagious. And Jesus tells us to love those who hate us..still a hard thing for me, but He will help with that too. After all, He died for us and we did not earn it one bit! Praise Him!

WE have a kindness jar in our home. we write our little acts of kindness on slips of paper and put them into the jar. It's wonderful to see it filling up and knowing that each piece of paper represents something good!

Love how Kathy replied to this post, good thoughts.

One of my favorite talks is when Pres. Monson told about all the service that was given on his behalf and how tickled he was to share. Loved the warm fuzzies, i bet those children will remember doing that forever and so will we.

I served my family the pumpkin pancakes...my son 35 was not too happy at the thought, and then when he ate one he loved them! a hit! I tried the whip cream with chopped almonds on top. so good. Thanks for sharing your thoughts and recipes, always makes my day.
