I gave my 2 year old grandson this little book over the weekend...we sat several times to read it together. He loved it and as we looked at all the details on every page, and he knew all the letters too!
It has really cute illustrations, which is very important to me when I buy a book, lots of detail.Lots of very cute pictures...and in the end, the witches turn out to be the little kids dressed up for Halloween...coming home with sacks full of goodies, falling into bed happy and content.
It even has a recipe for Pumpkin Soup...in a pumpkin! That would be fun for children to help Mom make~
This is my "scary" Halloween cat..Sage. I told her to give me her most scary look but she had to stretch first, and then....she fell back asleep. Sorry about that!
I hope you'll enjoy the Pumpkin Bar recipe...it is really good! And if you have little ones, the book is so fun to read and look at all the things on the pages...I read this little book at least four times to my little 2 yr. old grandson, looking at all the things on the page and he really loved it.
Halloween is almost here, me and the grands are getting SO excited! "ah-ah-ah-ah"...that was my witches laugh...if you couldn't tell! Have fun dear friends, with you and yours!

Hello, Julie,
Mmmm...I love anything with pumpkin. I am going to give your pumpkin bars a try. I love your cute Halloween book that you gave to your little grandson. It is wonderful that you read it together, and that he knew the letters. Your scary cat Sage is about like my scary black cat Bandit! Not very ferocious at all! Enjoy your fun time with grandkids! Thank you so much for stopping by for a visit today! Blessings, sweet friend! Vicki
You have such a cute blog! I love reading it and dreaming about making all the goodies...too bad I can't bake! Will you send me some ? haha
I miss reading to my son when he was little. Every night we had to read at least 2 books and then sing several songs.... Your cat does look a little scary! :)
Blessings!
Gwen

Those pumpkin bars sound delish. (I could eat a shoe with cream cheese frosting on it) I made your crockpot chicken last night. HUGE hit. Keep em coming! Mimi
It's me your new found friend --- it's ( The Gough Inn) I always love reading to my (6) grandkids when I with them. But I've not read books on Halloween --- just Thanksgiving and Christmas.. I'd bet they would love the book you are talking about here in the post today --- thanks for sharing and reminding me to go buy a few to have on hand! By the way I love your little wiches -- they look sweet I like that! We have a family Halloween each year to but this year I won't be around but I have prepared sacks with fruit inside with a knited hat that I have gotten done just in time --- you my wonder why fruit -- well it's like this if you can believe two of my grandkids don't like candy sweets in any form
only ice cream -- three of my grandkids can't handal candy sweets it makes them ill and the last one is to small to have any! So at our party you won't see a lot of candy buy yummy food! So that's why the Halloween sacks are filled with different fruits and a knited hat.
Hello Sweet Julie!
Thanks for the yummy recipe! I love anything with pumpkin in it! Sage is quite scary there!!! You are the best kind of Grandma a child would ever want! We are off to Oregon in a couple days for a grandson's baptism! Can't wait but I first need to finish his Holy Ghost quilt-The comforter!
Have a wonderful weekend!

Maryjane

Two year olds are the best. If everyone had a two year old in their lives there would be no war, I'm convinced of it.
The book is darling. The recipe--both of them--looks yummy.

Hi Julie,
Hope you are enjoying a wonderful Sunday. Thanks for stopping by with all of your kind comments. I adore anything flavored with pumpkin and your recipe for the pumpkin bars sounds delicious. And how fortunate you are to have a little one around to read to...use to be one of my favorite ways to spend time with my girls ~ how I miss it ~ will be waiting some time for grandchildren ~ enjoy all your blessings sweet lady.
Hi Julie,
I think I am going to make the crockpot chicken today. I may have to try the pumpkin bars if I have all the ingredients on hand.
Blessings,
Lorilee
Yum!! On a blog last year at this time I saw a receipe for pumpkin muffins....best one I have ever done since it was so easy. You take a box of spice cake mix and one can of pumpkin and mix it together. Drop into muffin tins and bake for about 10 min at 350. SOOO good and so easy!
Definitely am going to try the pumpkin bar recipe, sounds yummy! That book really does have the cutest illustrations. Love the little black kitties sitting with their legs crossed. Adorable!
Thanks for stopping by my blog and leaving such nice comments. :)
What a great post, recipe AND a good book! Sage doesn't look too scary! Thanks Julie for coming to GrannyMountain and leaving me a comment, I don't have many of those. I write about my family a lot, our family is getting so small. Come visit often!
