BABIES..CAKES AND QUILTS...

I've been busy making a baby quilt for this little darling grand daughter of ours...
her name is Ella Mae..she is named after my Mother. She is the sweetest, most beautiful little girl!

I have also been busy baking...I love to bake these Chocolate peppermint Christmas cakes for my neighbor gifts...they smell so good when you open up the package and they make a nice gift..easy too!

~I make at least 20 of these every year for Christmas gifts for all my neighbors~

This is the baby quilt I have been making for our little grand daughter Ella, she is 4 months old now. I had made her another quilt too all pink and furry soft..this one took a little more time to make. This quilt has lions and giraffe's and pink elephants and flowers all over it. It looks kind of retro, it's really cute! I love doing quilts for the grands..a little keepsake for them in the future too with a tag in the bottom corner that says it was made for them by grandma!

~The inside of this quilt has polka dots that coordinates with the other side~

~Michael and Lindsey~

This video below is how our daughter Lindsey and her husband Michael told us that they were going to have a baby, they said they wanted to get a picture before dinner..they set the camera's on timer..we all smiled..click..then again..then Michael said he wanted to get one more photo so he set his camera up again..we smiled....no click....waited and waited...finally he said.."everyone say; " 1-2-3- Lindseys pregnant!"
I was the last to "get it"... but I was SO happy...it really made my Thanksgiving day! Lindsey is due in July and this will be our 20th grandchild...can one have too many grands...I don't think so...they are the greatest joy in life for sure!
Well, Christmas is at out door steps...hope you are all ready and are now sitting around with a cup of hot chocolate, enjoying the fire and the music and each other! xxx's :D

I just love your blog, seriously.Always such nice things to hear about with your family.Your grandaughter is adorable.I love the name Ella.Shes just so sweet sleeping there.

Oh my peppermint chocolate cake not thats just wrong of you to post that,LOL.I simply lovee peppermint with chocolate.I wish if you had time you could post it.But I really understand if you dont with those 20 grand kids. You look so young.Your daughter looks just like you up there.

I dont know about my girls. My youngest will be 25 in June the oldest 30 in June. They dont want kids as far as now anyway. The youngest is working and saving her money. The oldest the same but she has a fiance who has 3 children. They are 12 14 15.So I sort of dont blame her there. But me Im hoping someday one of them, when they marry will have a boy.Id love a grandson, but dont get me wrong a grand daughter would be nice to.But since I had girls thats why a grandson, also I think that is what I lost in between the 2 of them.

Anyway, I feel like im writing a book,LOL.I better quit now and get some napping done, lol.I work tonight so I will need the rest.

God Bless all of you and have a lovely Blessed Christmas!

20 grand kids? Wow, I have a long way to go to catch up to that. I don't think it will ever even get close to that with only two kids of my own. I would love it though!

Hello dear Julie, I came to visit and wish you a Merry Christmas. You put me to shame with your 20 neighbor cakes. I don't have anything for my neighbors this year. I usually dip chocolets, but I'M TRYING to maintain a new life style that does not include eating home made chocolets. I can't make them without eating them. I don't know!

Thank you for commenting on my blog. Your comments made me feel so good. Your wonderful.

Love ya

I love your new baby, nothing better. And your quilt is so darling.

I love that name! I am Brenda Mae. And hate it. Does anyone like their name or their straight hair or their curly hair, you get the point! I can't believe you're generous and kind enough to bake that many cakes! They look delectable!

You are surrounded by a beautiful family Julie. It's so hard to believe you have 19, soon to be 20 grandchildren. You don't look like you could have any! The quilt and the baby are adorable. My mom made baby quilts for all of her grandkids too. Then she made queen sized quilts for both me and my brother and one for each grandchild, so they will have one to use when they're grown too.
Blessings,
Marcia
