THAT INWARD STILLNESS.....

I hope you have found at crucial moments in your life, that of all the gifts our Father in Heaven can bestow upon us, surely none is more needed than the peace that comes from the gift of his Son.

Christ has warned that in the world we shall have tribulation, but he has also promised that in Him we shall have peace.

Longfellow captured a truth when he composed the following verse:

Let us labour for an inward stillness-

An inward stillness and an inward healing;

That perfect silence, where the lips and heart

Are still, and we no longer entertain

Our own imperfect thoughts and vain opinions,

But God alone speaks in us, and we wait

In singleness of heart, that we may know

His will, and in the silence of our spirits

That we may do His will, and do that only.

Let yourself "fall" upon the grace and the gift of the Son of God.
Let your hand fall into his hand that he may lead you.
Want his companionship over any other joy in this world.

Desire to do the work he sent you here to do.
As we do so, we will find a more excellent way,
in the peace that surpasseth understanding.

Have a wonderful Sabbath day my sweet friends...
May we all find....that inward stillness.

Thank you for your beautiful message and your quiet thoughts, it is nice to be alone with your own thoughts in the stillness of the day or evening. Longfellow always seemed to know how he was meant to serve. Love your blog and your wonderful pictures and graphics, come for a visit and see the rabbits....Phyllis

Love the quote from Longfellow Julie. You know they say that hardships make us stronger. For me that was the case.I had a husband who died very young, and then 2 years later I myself got thyroid cancer. Those trails have made me so much stronger 7 years ago I wouldnt of told you that. But being cancer free for all that time has taught me that God does make us stronger through trails.I have been blessed truly by the love of Christ!

Have a wonderful Sunday Julie.HUGS!

Sometimes our lives get so busy with the mundane things that we have to do that we forget to take time for that peace and quiet that we need to hear God speaking to us. Getting into His word and savoring each verse, letting it sink in to our soul. We fail Him so often but how blessed we are to have His grace!!!!

Love the pic of you on your horse!
